I think our generation was supposed to be the chosen one...but then nibbler blew it and it had to go another generation.

Years ago, when my kids were little, a dear friend (who was also our Bishop's wife, )called me totally enraged.She'd been to some youth training where this same premise was brought up. She shouted at me, "How can they (meaning our kids) be the chosen generation. We were the chosen generation. Remember the clock close to midnight, etc. All my life I dreamed of giving it my all, staying strong during the destruction, then walking hand in hand with Moroni over the smoldering, scorched earth that closed out life. Now what I am supposed to do."

Today she is a grandmother. The torch just passed to another group. Long live the unfulfilled generations.

Lol, everyone is the chosen, most bestest generation. I think they use that phrase to stoke people's ego's and get more commitment, despite "adversity", however it comes. That's the long and short of it.

I'm not sure millenials are... according to a recent survey, a quarter said they would consider a relationship with a sex bot. Probably one that took their photo every five minutes and leaked it on the Cloud.

If I'm going down I'm dragging all the rest of you down with me. Don't blame me, perhaps you should blame god for being so all-or-nothing.

On a more serious note.

I think it's important for youth (kids) to believe they are special. It's less a matter of one generation being chosen over another and more a matter of the youth needing to hear the message, so the message gets repeated to each generation.

To chuckles, whenever a chosen generation thing is brought up (usually in PH) I throw out something like "I've been hearing this chosen generation thing since I joined the church as a young man in the early 1980s. How many chosen generations can there be?"

I was hearing this in the 60s when I was in primary.

If a generation is twenty years or so then we've had two and a bit since the sixties.
