Re: Do you pay tithing?

So that brings up the point alluded to here that some people do believe they have been blessed by paying tithing and that others can be, too. My question for those people, and I'll politely call you out Rich Dunn (but I don't want to argue with you), exactly what blessings have you received for pay...

Re: Emotional Roller Coastering

Sorry to hear of your struggles. Hang in there! It's lonely sometimes, but take a minute and seek out those who are like you . Hopefully there will be some. I just got shifted to a new ward and keep an eye out for women wearing pants, etc ;) I got lucky, my new bishop is way cool. He had a talk with...

Re: Do you pay tithing?

I have had many blessings paying tithing. So I fall into the camp of being afraid to stop. Also, I want to hold a temple recommend, it allows me to be where I want to be in the church calling-wise.

Re: EQ/RS Lessons

My worthiness is no longer tied to my behavior. My life’s meaning is no longer to test my obedience. The good and the bad that happens in my life is no longer related to my being deserving/the hand of God. I am not striving for the carrot nor trying to avoid the stick. I am to them a conundrum. In ...

Re: Looking for advice

So, I had the unfortunate luck of having a spouse who spilled the beans for me, to my parents. My dad's reaction was to immediately badmouth the internet, other religions, etc without asking me what my specific problems were. My mom's reaction was to lose sleep, cry, and blame herself. It was painfu...

Re: EQ/RS Lessons

This is somewhat of my niche as far as my pet area of interist and study. In both my personal experience and my studies, I am intrigued at the limitations of "choice" during extreme trauma. Your body seems to be equipped with subconscious response mechanisms. Even the initial state of shock is a pr...

Well, we hold EQ in the chapel so...

And there is a nice brother who sits in the front row asleep for the lesson.

Re: EQ/RS Lessons

Ok, I admit I'm a bit curious... how did that subject come up in primary? I joined the church later in life so I missed out on primary and YM, is church history a subject that is taught to some of the older primary students? Hehe, yeah, we taught church history all this year. My group was 1...

Re: Strange Results from Gospel Living

Though kids are unpredictable, I don't think faithful, active living vs. inactive living is the whole issue. You help your daughter understand the outcomes of her decisions without bias and grant her the responsibility to decide fore herself. Your friend sounds like he never trusted them to make tho...
