Re: Asking for an autograph from a 60?
If you want an autograph of President Monson, you can just buy a signed copy of his book at extra cost.

Re: BH Roberts
Thanks for the link. Since posting, I found a thread here about BHR that was very helpful too. I find this man very interesting and can't wait to read more on him.

Re: LDS.org Book of Mormon Translation
Has anybody found value in these articles? I mean, anybody here, who has already dug into these issues quite a bit? Do you read them and get any new perspectives? I read one and found it lacking in detail, but at least it was accurate and well written.

Re: Santa Claus
Yes, it is a little sickening. Although I don't know the nature of the reasons behind the Santa obsession by certain members of the family, some of the main ones involved are non-members who grew up in a member family. I can't help but wonder if there is some clinging to the good old innocent way th...

Re: Badmouthing Leaders
I think the person speaking on the podcast was putting forth their own opinion on how things should be. The online world is more diverse than that. In this particular case, the person was stating that they were no longer welcome on many forums because of being critical of leaders. This surprised me...

Re: Santa Claus
My kids are young and believe in Santa Claus. I try not to make a big deal about it, but others, like their aunts especially, make a huge deal about Santa to them. They have received phone calls, letter, e-mails, pictures, and of course presents from Santa. I don't actively oppose this childhood bel...

Badmouthing Leaders
I recently heard on a podcast (maybe it was A Thoughtful Faith) that in the online world of mormonism, even among forums such as this one, that it is unacceptable to make critical remarks about the church's leaders. As an online newbie, I wondered if this is true, and what the reasoning behind this ...

BH Roberts
I have two or three times before heard a story about BH Roberts where he came to the church with a bunch of problems regarding the Book of Mormon and was told to bug off. Is there a source for this? It would be cool to read about. I realize some people would love to point to an instance where the ch...

Re: Dark ages to continue another 12 months? Or. . .
I feel like you can pretty much get away with straying significantly from the manual as long as you have respect for who you're teaching. It's like anything in the media, you can say whatever you want, but if viewership/readership declines, you may get axed. To hedge myself, I use supporting materia...

Re: Which Matrix character are you?
Great post! I think I have been most of those characters throughout my faith journey. I was definitely Neo when I took the red pill, but I was Cypher on some level before I took it. ( I realize that doesn't make sense within the context of the plot.) Now I am definitely Trinity. I love the knowledge...
