Hmm. Well, it's never too late to say, "Sorry I overboiled. Can't we make room for each other in this church?"

Re: An ominous developement for Middle Way Mormons

I could see this as the starting point of a group of people who then take it one step further and start creating their own formal organization. If there is some "Middle Way" movement going on, who knows what they've done, said, or threatened to do to disrupt the church. There very well could be val...

Re: We CAN rise above our suffering

From that literal perspective, the Good News is that suffering can end even while I'm buried in the dirt. Situation doesn't have to govern spiritual state. Nearly all suffering is an internal malfunction.

So, did you like singing the song? I assume you must like the songs if you keep singing.

Re: An ominous developement for Middle Way Mormons

Touche'. Yes, I have been a fool. I don't know. I think it's admirable. I'd rather be a happy fool than a smart storm cloud. Forgive me. I'm evidently pretty uninformed. What is this "Middle Way"? Some of us call that place between belief in the One True LDS baptism and wholesale rejection of Mormo...

I think it might be personally helpful to me if you are willing to expand on this idea. Tell me some stories!

Re: Help John Dehlin ! ! !

4. I'm also wondering if the party-line isn't right after all. That in frequenting boards like this you end up NOT nourishing the seed the way you should, and so, it doesn't grow and swell....it leads to less activity, with JD as a case in point. I have to confess, for all the community-feeling you...

Re: Help John Dehlin ! ! !

John is just a guy. Like the rest of us. He's an energetic, crazy, loving, suffering, hopeful guy. I think he's doing a lot of good, and I don't think there is any realistic way the church can provide the same service at this time.

Re: How do you handle it mentally?

Dear Mom, I noticed the poem about the lambs. It's very touching. Thanks for sharing the depths of your feelings in such a poignant way. I pray I do what is best to lead the lambs to the Master. And I appreciate knowing that you are praying for me. Love, RLT There's nothing like appreciation and und...

Re: IS THIS TRUE?

Yes, it's true. That doesn't mean by any stretch that John has become a flaming ex-mormon. Please consider: For me, the "LDS Restoration" (as in God restoring the "one true church with exclusive priesthood authority") is just not a credible narrative....and my wife and I can no longer pretend like (...
