Re: More temple ordinance changes
Not that my vote matters, but if I did have a vote and if it did matter, I would vote to either eliminate the new name or change it so that both spouses know each other's new name. That would be a unifying factor in a marriage instead of a dividing one.

Re: Conference predictions
It's unlikely that they'll reverse the priesthood role of women, but I do wonder why the emphasis on women studying it for the last several months. Anything less than an "all-in" for holding priesthood offices would be a major let down for many. That said, my traditionalist viewpoints hope that at l...

Changing Wards/Stakes
I can't give details behind this question, but... Has anyone known of a stake president allowing records to be moved to a new stake if a family hasn't moved to the new stake area? Who gives the approval? The outgoing SP or the incoming SP? Or can a bishop just pull the records in on his own? If reco...

Same-sex Relationships on Family Search
https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/familysearch-document-same-sex-family-relationships Whatever, but the most disturbing parts of the article for me are, “in accordance with the Church’s doctrine...” or “consistent with the Church’s doctrine...” When did we officially move from Christ’...

Re: Which excuse is usually more valid?
Agree with the other comments - I would question the validity of those stories. Disgruntled people often exaggerate or contrive stories for effect. :problem: 1 - if those stories were true, we would have heard of many, many lawsuits against the church for the alleged preventable deaths. 2 - my husba...

Take Your Vitamin Pills, Get Some Rest...
When I first heard those words, I had high hopes. Maybe I was too naive, but I was expecting new doctrinal revelation. And maybe that is still coming, but as of now... We have seen several administrative changes. I LOVE the temple changes, even though I no longer attend the temple and have no plans ...

Seminary Manual vs. non-LDS Scripture Commentary
I am teaching seminary. I like the teacher manual for some things, but I find that I actually gain more insight and love for the scriptures when I use online commentary by those of other faiths. The commentaries that I read delve into word syntax, historical background and, best of all, thought-prov...

New Young Men Theme
Did anyone else catch that the new YM theme states that "I am a beloved son of God" ? Whereas the new YW theme states that "I am a beloved daughter of heavenly parents" which is a change from stating: "We are daughters of our Heavenly Father" ? The YW have been brought forward into having "heavenly ...
