Re: Why I go to church...
DJ, I understand what you are saying. But, at my age it is important to have social contacts outside of our home life. I have found that if you want or need social contacts, I have to make the effort to connect. I can't wait for someone to come to me and talk more openly. For example, we had a Hallo...

Why I go to church...
I've been asking myself the question: why do I go to church? My wife & I have been going back to church (since our FC) about 12 years. We recently moved into a new ward & stake. We could of stayed home & waited for someone to contact us. Instead, one of the first things we did was find t...

Re: Past Topics & Discussions
Over the years there have been many good discussions about our personal lives, doctrine & the other teachings of the church. Of the topics I've highlighted, I don't think I commented on any of them. I think my future efforts will be to review the "old" posts. There is a lot of wisdom t...

Past Topics & Discussions
Before I retired, I was an Accountant. I loved working with numbers. Recently, I looked at old posts & topics. I wanted to know which topics had the most replies by Forum. It was interesting to see & review past history of this site. This is what I found. Introduction Section Topic: From Fai...

Re: The Plan of Salvation
Is it possible: to move onto the next life & we forget what happened previously?
Another clean slate!
How sad would that be?

Re: The Plan of Salvation
Amy, I understand what you're saying. Using the pre-school example for the pre-existence then (in my opinion) we loss the lesson of "getting along with others" because of the vail. It seems to me that the plan should be "eternal progression". Meaning you're aware & learn from...

The Plan of Salvation
I've been thinking about the different doctrines taught by our church. I started with the "The Plan of Salvation". A very brief outline of this teaching is: . Before our birth into this life, we lived in a Pre-Mortal Existence. . At the time of our birth, we came through the Veil of Forget...

Re: Priesthood Ordination for my Son
Roy, does your son also think that it won't be fun?
My first thought was to let your son have the experience (assuming he wants to go) then
discuss the experience with him when he gets back.
It's just a thought.

Re: The death of President Nelson
A similar question for me is: why didn't he choose Elder Uchtdorf?
To me he is highly energetic.
Hard working (as far as I know & understand).
More youthful compared...
He has always been one of my favorites. I didn't understand when Pres Nelson didn't choose him.

Re: The death of President Nelson
Is there anything we can read into the choice of counselors? I'm sure SLC is all "a buzz".
