Re: Why I go to church...
MM, I'm sorry for what you and your wife are going through (getting old and all that comes with it). I have "visited" other Christian churches for a long time. I remember one pastor talking about creating an environment that people will want to be in even if they don't believe and then, ma...

Polygamy indirectly teaches that a woman can be replaced in the relationship (usually by a younger woman), but that a man cannot as a "legal" variation Not nearly as frustrating as polygamy, however, I think it is worth noting that the man may also be replaced. One description of the cele...

Re: Um...self-stimulation okay in marriage?
There are very credible studies that have underscores that men with higher testosterone levels have more difficultly controlling sexual drive and are not as engaged with nurturing/parenting children (and have larger testicle size). They tend be rated by their wives as not being the best fathers. Pa...

Re: The death of President Nelson
I'm thinking about the talk that Elder Oaks gave about women in the church serving by and with the authority of the priesthood. I'm hoping that Elder Oaks will be open to making things more equal in this department. Maybe women will still not be ordained but other things could easily change. I'm thi...

Yeah, we have known him for more than a decade and he lives pretty close to us. Really nice guy, all things considered.
I think I am pretty used to LDS church leaders and members acting like I have a responsibility to support and serve the church. I just shrug it off.

Re: Building Janitorial Assignments
My wife and I have been receiving and ignoring the emails and texts about our "turn" cleaning the church building for about 6 months now. Unrelated, it was about 6 months ago that my wife suggested that we experiment with attending another church consistently (we had dabbled in visiting ot...

I have two questions for others 1. Your thoughts on functional masturbation not being sinful but other types of masturbation being sinful? 2. Is it God’s design for most men (not all) to have high levels of sexual arousal? (I know there are also some relationship where it is reversed) I'm of a scho...

Re: Priesthood Ordination for my Son
After reading MM's advice, I figured it certainly couldn't hurt to give DS the option.
An added variable is that he would miss a sports practice and a library event by going on this temple trip.
Roy Jr. has chosen to miss the temple trip and we responded by text declining the invite.
