Re: The Physical Sensations of the Spirit

I have had tears come when reading the BoM with a friend. I do not know how to explain the tears. They were super embarrassing at the time. I took that to be the spirit. I have felt a feeling of power/tingling when I helped set a young man apart for missionary service. I have felt a sense of peace w...

Re: Sad about possessions lost

Congratulations on the move. That is always an accomplishment. I am sorry about the lost or damaged items. Sometimes I get real down about losing or damaging something that is really pretty small. I even remind myself that it is not worth stressing over. That helps a little sometimes. I think someth...

Re: Baptism for the dead/priesthood?

As part of this, it is important to remember that the "priesthood ban" restricting men of African descent also restricted them from the temple.

Re: Eternal progression?

Having said that, I also believe that the division of kingdoms is more allegorical and motivational than absolute. I think it is necessary to teach an understandable generality, but I think that generality fades away in the end. I believe ultimately the judgment is a foregone conclusion by the time...

Re: Would like to rely on prayer, but.....

I do pray for ONE THING now and then, and am persistent at it, but only when I see no way of getting the thing I want through my own efforts. So, the fact that I ask for something and HOPE that it comes to fruition shows faith that God hears prayers and sometimes answers them. This to me sounds lik...

Re: Bye bye temple cafeterias

I put this in the same file as painting over temple murals and firing the janitors. I too see this as similar to no longer employing janitors but I do not see that as a bad thing necessarily. I have always felt that no longer employing janitors makes sense from a business perspective. They are cove...

I think that is prayer. Meditation and prayer are basically the same thing to me, with some variations, but not much different in practice.
Yes! This sounds about where I sit as well.

Re: The COVID-19 Vax & the WOW

Let's give this topic a rest. It is certainly a hot button issue - particularly now with government mandates etc. I think it helps to give charity to everyone - believing that they are doing the best that they can and are making their decisions based on what they think will be best for the people th...

Actually, why don’t we turn the temple cafeterias into soup kitchens to provide free meals to the needy? That would be an interesting twist, and then temples could serve the living as well as the dead. You’d get a lot more visitors too.
