Re: The Church and Freemasonry

Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions. Would you speculate that JS had received the endowment "principles that we knew of when first presented with the Plan of Salvation in pre-mortality " some time prior to becoming associated with masonry and was searching for a vehicle/teaching ...

Not at all. This is a wonderful example of lifting up those that are most in need.

Re: TR, Goals, & Tithing

Being a self-motivated person gets me in trouble culturally/ puts people off balance because this situation is not expected or covered in the handbook as far as i know. It is usually easier for sisters to work with me because they are more pragmatic - and most sister leader/sister agent interaction...

Re: TR, Goals, & Tithing

You know this and we know this, but do your leaders know it? And by know it I mean do they really understand and accept it? I ask because many (not just leaders and not all leaders) might hear you say it but are still wont to fall back on church formularies which are often false "if/then" scenarios...

Re: TR, Goals, & Tithing

The stake visits you mentioned are routine across the Church before conferences. We just moved in October, and I was in the RSP in our old ward, so I used to have to do these visits. That is so funny that these visits are so predictable by proximity to conferences. Is there any reason that they hap...

Re: Richard's Rohr's 3 Stages

The following is a relevant quote that has been discussed here in the past: We are like sailors who must rebuild their ship on the open sea, never able to dismantle it in dry-dock and to reconstruct it there out of the best materials. Where a beam is taken away a new one must at once be put there, a...

Re: The Church and Freemasonry

Thank you for sharing this. I found it very interesting. I do have some follow-up clarifying questions. They may be personal and I would respect your right to decline to answer any and all of them. I'm glad that my differentiation between ceremonial elements and subject matter was clear; To clarify,...

Re: I watched an old movie tonight.

DS is attending a youth group at the local Methodist church. They have some really great activities. Anyway last week they talked about some things that the bible got right that scientists are only now figuring out. The examples seemed to me to be a pretty significant leap but there they were, being...

Re: Virtual R.S. Lesson - Sister Becky Craven, Keep the Change, October 2020

I really like that all the quotes used for the different types of frameworks to understand the relationship with God are from the same speaker and the same speech. I feel that is helps to overcome possible resistance if the audience perceived that you were saying that one speaker represented a parti...
