Jesus Wasn't Born in a Stable: An Excellent Article

Post by Curt Sunshine » 25 Dec 2019, 21:29

I came across this article this morning and thought I should share it with all of you. I had heard this basic info years ago, and I love how it changes the basic story of Jesus' birth. ... DCSidwa16o
I see through my glass, darkly - as I play my saxophone in harmony with the other instruments in God's orchestra. (h/t Elder Joseph Wirthlin)

Even if people view many things differently, the core Gospel principles (LOVE; belief in the unseen but hoped; self-reflective change; symbolic cleansing; striving to recognize the will of the divine; never giving up) are universal.

Thanks Curt. I like the challenge of looking at the scriptures & teaching of the church in different or unconventional ways.
His approach is well thought out & interesting to consider.

I've read this and to be honest it doesn't do much for me. The linguistic aspect is interesting, but it doesn't change my view of the nativity.

There is a nice little book written by Brad Wilcox called Because of the Messiah in a Manger which covers a lot of this type of stuff. It is a short but very insightful read.
In the absence of knowledge or faith there is always hope.

Once there was a gentile...who came before Hillel. He said "Convert me on the condition that you teach me the whole Torah while I stand on one foot." Hillel converted him, saying: That which is despicable to you, do not do to your fellow, this is the whole Torah, and the rest is commentary, go and learn it."
