I am not in favor of most absolute statements. As you get older, it's a often recipe for attack, often a recipe for exceptions to be shared, and normally a sign of a lack of breadth in a person's experience or judgment.

I also found that their treatment of birth control was open and left to the couple to determine family planning.

When I was married, DW was on some medication that was known to cause birth defects and her Dr. required 2 forms of birth control (abstinence was considered as one form  ). Anyway, DW got some heat from her family. They seemed understanding of the circumstances, as long as DW did not use her medication as an excuse to postpone parenthood any longer than was necessary.

Anyway, Knowing as I do that there are still some pockets in Mormonland that feel it is one's duty to have children early and often, I am thankful for yet another step in the direction of "Mind your own business!!!"

I found it interesting that under each heading in the article there was a small explanation, and under the "we believe pornography is forbidden", the explanation was much longer. It included this tidbit: "Well-meaning people sometimes pass on rules that don’t exist."
