Re: Time's Up

The church literally limited if not took us out of each others lives except at stake priesthood meetings not literally. You made choices. One thing you may need to adjust is what you choose to do at church and what not to. It is a buffet, not an all or nothing church, even tho some might suggest it...

Re: Time's Up

To me it sounds like you have endured it as long as you could. It is what it is and not really changing for you. You can keep doing what you are doing, or you can choose to try another way. Neither choice comes without pain. You just choose the least pain and look for growth and new experiences. I h...

Re: If the theme for the year is keeping the Sabbath day holy, what are we doing wrong?

I'm guessing it is about commitment levels. The thing they probably notice the most is when people don't attend church, because...well...they see they aren't there or are skipping 3rd hour or other things which make it hard to hold meetings when people aren't there or are not doing their callings. S...

Re: New First Presidency of the church

All of the problems I have with the Church can be boiled down to this. When so much emphasis is placed on the spirit guiding and directing the church and leaders and even personally to find truth....this is kind of a scary thing. How to rely on the spirit for things...what is the spirit and not. It...

Re: New First Presidency of the church

I believe this new FP is basically the start of the Oaks administration. I actually see good wisdom here...RMN is 93. God will keep him capable of leading for as long as needed. But as we saw with Hinckley and Monson, they were mostly running things well before their call as President when Benson an...

Re: On DFU Making it Back to the FP or Becoming Pres

I think this is where natural attrition holds it sway. From what I can tell, reading on LDS.org and listening to others, I believe this is kind of what we accept as revelation for a prophet now, right? If God does not want to call an Apostle to be the prophet, they will pass away before getting the...

Re: What's the holdup?

Haha... wouldn't that be a kick in the pants. I don't watch much live TV these days. I will likely be on the ski slopes but have my DVR set to record. I'll get around to it eventually. Maybe I will try to watch it from my phone on the slopes????? If any of you are fasting that day...please also pray...

Tuesday is the announcement.

I was sent a special invitation directly to my registered email in lds.org.

I feel special.

Re: FP under RMN Presidency

I can't imagine it being different than RMN, but technically the first presidency is resolved, and the Apostles lead the church, and they decide to reorganize a new First Presidency, or leave as is and run the church as Quorum of the 12 Apostles (Although there are 14 currently). It isn't automatica...

It's a daily battle
you win some and and some days don't but sometimes you live another day to try again...I feel more on the cynicism side as of late.
