So, who is the next in line? :|
Russell M Nelson.

I hate to say it but I'm glad Boyd K. Packer is out of the running.
The truth is I'm sadder about this than I am about TSM's death. It's going to be a tough couple (or few) years for some of us.

Re: President Monson Passes

I have admittedly not always been a Monson fan, but I have become one because of his message. I will miss him in multiple ways.

Re: Snag in New Ward

Not only did the FP approve the hymnbook, there is a pretty pointed introduction "signed" by the FP making their stance on the hymns pretty clear. https://www.lds.org/music/guidelines/first-presidency-preface-to-the-hymns?lang=eng&_r=1 Your approach of shaking hands and acting like nothing happened ...

Re: So glad to know I’m not alone

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found us. I think the toughest part about being a Mormon is other Mormons. I jokingly say I wouldn't want to live in Utah because there are too many Mormons there. But it's not really a joke - I mean it. Testimony is important and can help, but sometimes it just se...

Re: Putting down my pitchfork... er... taking a hiatus.

Welcome back, and thanks for the update.
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways.
Merry Christmas and happy new year.

Re: A Christmas Wish

I too have been greatly helped by my friends here and love this community. It is my hope that none feel unloved or unwanted here. And God bless us every one!

Re: This We Don't See

I can't say that I have seen favoritism to the wealthy in building use in our ward. I have lived here 25 years, same ward, same building. Mind you, we don't have any very wealthy although we do have some very poor. I have seen personal parties on the calendar, most recently a work party for a small ...

Re: Church is true site

Thanks for checking in. I'm glad things are working for you. The guy who does the Churchistrue site is a member of this site, but I don't know how often he comes around - he might appreciate a PM thanking him though. I think his site has helped many.

Re: Two Guests for Christmas

Just sharing a story that happened a long time ago, but not in a galaxy so far away - it was in the ward I still live in. One of the more eccentric members was asked to speak, I think it was the the second week in December. She started off talking about three birthdays we celebrate in December - Jes...

Re: Missionaries behind closed doors

I'm going to say that I rather enjoyed the time when it was just "us" in our apartments. The best part of my mission was when I lived in an apartment (flat to us) with another companionship. Those "let down your hair" moments to just be young guys hanging out together got me through some tough times...
