One of the first things I did when I told my wife about my FC was apologize. I knew she would feel the loss at some point. She finally cried about it for the first time last week.
I sincerely hope you can find a way to grieve together instead of separately.

Re: Serving the Poor
But I am glad for this site and others that help me see that there is so much good in the church. I look at it as a good/better/best situation. It keeps me from being that angry exmo that I so much don't want to be. I really really know that many (most) of the people in my ward are honest and reall...

Re: Poem, The Impercipient
Welcome! I don't have a lot to add besides that the poem also stirs something in me. I get that guy. Feel free to share details about yourself at your own pace. I will say, though, that this particular tribe is very understanding. When you feel more like reading than writing, Google searches spelled...

Re: Tithing settlement policy changes?
Technically, per the Church's definition, I would probably not be considered a full tither payer, however according to my definition, I believe I am. I'm still mulling over which definition I should go with and which answer to provide. As I understand it, if you're a full tithe payer according to y...

So many great ideas! Please don't take it personally if I don't quote most of it to reply, because I'd have to quote the whole thread.. Welcome Reuben - I was out of town when you posted your intro. Glad to have you actively among us. The more voices we have the more we grow. Thanks, mom3. I don't k...

Re: Seminary/College/Kids
Another thing I struggle with when it comes to seminary is the studies that show that teens need sleep. Early morning seminary is the only option here and I worry about how the sleep deprivation (let's face it, teens aren't going to go to bed any earlier) factors in. Anecdote: My oldest daughter is...

Re: An ADHD FC
I haven't been tending my intro thread very well. Fortunately, I believe in repentance. I didn't realize that things might be different if I had ever taken medicine for it (I've just been stumbling through life without it, but looking back things would have been certainly easier). Things a...

That said, I'd love to see some follow-up studies, too.Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Dumbledore wrote:Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?

Post-FC information-gathering best practices
My FC's effect on my assumptive reality: it was like someone tore out two of the thickest, most central strands in a giant, tangled web, leaving a gaping hole surrounded by fragile tatters flapping in the wind. Those two thick strands were labeled "there is an all-powerful creator who is involved in...
