Re: My HPG Lesson on Priesthood Power and Authority Last Week

You should read what Sister Laurel Thatcher Ulrich says about women giving blessings in the early church. A House Ful of Females is a pretty good read. Before I left for college at BYU, my mother had a "vision/dream" and gathered me and my siblings around ,told us about it, layed her hands on our he...

Re: How to be like a duck

I use Cyrillic notation for notes that may be seen by others. Course, you have to know who went where on their mission!

Anniversary Posting: Testimony

After a year on Staylds, what is my take on my testimony? First some background. As I approached missionary age, I became more and more concerned about truthfully bearing my testimony. How could I tell investigators I knew the Church was true if I couldn't say so truthfully? I was very concerned at ...

Re: After Almost a Year Here What do I Know?

Thanks so much for all your encouraging comments. You are very kind. I think maybe I erred somewhat in using the word "discovery". It's not so much that I have discovered the great truths of things as that I have uncovered areas of nuance or divergence from my previous assumptions. So now, what do I...

Re: Comfort in the name of this Site

Thanks for posting. I struggle with burnout as well, although I haven't been in the crucible like you have. I think you will get much help here, and I will be paying close attention your and other's comments, though I don't know how much I'll be able to help.

After Almost a Year Here What do I Know?

I am approaching a year here, and I have some discovery observations to share, both about the forum, myself and the other residents: I think the forum provides a needed ministry and is instrumental in the salvation of souls. I think there is a good spirit here and that many people try to help those ...

Re: The Conscription Model of Church Service -- Is there a better way?

So, in my ward it's the 10 who do everything, which is one of my problems. Are there some threads here on the 12 who do everything? I tried to search but I think this forum search engine is not the best for that type of wordy search.

Re: Scouting Change

This change gets scouts in the Church closer to what it was 50 years ago when I was in scouts. Be hard to go to Mutual now after turning 14, but did you see the note about once a month? Maybe not so bad.

Re: Brain Structure and Spiritual Sensitivity

Speaking of this, has anybody done a thread or a book report on The Varieties of Religious Experience by William James? My son recommended it to me, and it is part of the reason I am here.

SamBee,
Seriously, I think there maybe something there, I just could not pass up the joke. I agree that this is an area we should keep tabs on.
