Re: Its been a while but have a question

Because of the contagion, I was hoping for something online, on video, SKYPE, or YouTube. God knows our concerns and will honor our efforts.

Re: Abrahamic Religionist

My original post about covers what I know. I was a straight up Muslim for 9 years. Wearing my Hijab helped me to feel much more safe and secure. It is not obvious that many sects of Judaism wear wigs or snoods to meet that requirement. Even when with the Mormons, I wore the Hijab until 2017. I'm ash...

Re: Any wishes given this social distancing, crisis of the COVID?

I feel that the stopping of the Sacrament in 'some' form is faithless. We can not get together but perhaps we could be doing a sort of virtual Sacrament?

Abrahamic Religionist

I'm still defining what that term means for me. I've studied Judaism, 'fallen' Christianity, Mormonism, Islam, and looked at Zoroastrianism, and Yazidism. I am sure that I worship the Creator, and Jesus the christ. Looking at Pre-Judaistic Faiths, it is clear that there is an earlier existence where...

New Order Mormons

I was searching for something, forgot what, and the term "New Order Mormon" came up. Oddly the software for their site and this one is the same. My membership did not transfer to the NOM site. Not planning to cause any trouble here.

Re: The Church & the Coronavirus

As for the Missionaries perhaps it is impossible to get them all home? A Quick check revealed that the Church has 70,000 of them. I don't know what will happen? I think the course of the disease is less than one week? What then?

It is surprising that there are no online services.

Personal Theological Boundaries

Yesterday, after I got off line, I had to sit and think for a while. I felt that a man had just tried to impose his beliefs on me, leaving me a bit upset and feeling defensive. Exactly why is it that re engaging with the LDS seems like a good idea? To be sure, a great deal of the Mormon story feels ...

Re: Polygamy and Disassembling

Sigh. Now you are going to make me work. I remember reading in the Tanakh that God ordered that the widows and women with children be taken care of. I should know it well, but in my dotage, even after a long time of study, I forget things.

Re: Polygamy and Disassembling

I do not argue with that.

Perhaps it got started in antiquity as a way to see that widows were supported?

Re: Polygamy and Disassembling

3 or 4 wives is acceptable.

20 or 30 or more is offensive, evil and driven by satan and testosterone and big, narcissistic egos.
