Re: Clueless about boundaries

Sorry to be so brief, I didn't realize it was such a broad topic. I'm talking about personal boundaries with my relationships: DW, sibs, parents, etc. regarding faith and beliefs. It's a new concept for me--I usually just open up and debate people who accuse me of being deceived or whatever. I now r...

Re: Ideas for "meaty" classes/discussion groups at church

I have been wondering the same thing myself. I think it depends on your leaders. I was once invited to a book club by my bishop of all people to discuss crucible of doubt. The discussion was open and refreshing. But there's no SS group. I really like the name "gospel questions." I think a class cove...

For laughs

http://m.imgur.com/wcZ8rXs I've been a little negative lately, so I thought we could do a thread on the positives of this document, which outlines missionary requirements for prospective missionaries in this stake in Utah. I'll start: Women allowed to get Eagle Scouts Emphasis on mental health Sent ...

Help for lesson

I'm teaching next Sunday, the lesson is on the Sabbath, based on Elder Nelson's talk. As always, GC talks are hard to make into lessons. if anyone has any talks or lessons on the Sabbath they would like to share, I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Re: What Mormonism boils down to

I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of complaining bitterly about having to read scripture will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. Nibbler, this w...

What Mormonism boils down to

This quote from ETB manual from ch 9 on the Book of Mormon, I think, is the core reason behind the motivation and fear that drives members to remain orthodox, to willfully ignore facts, refrain from reading the scriptures objectively and to lack empathy when someone else refuses to do so: “I feel ce...

Re: Post Training Report

Great job!!! You just can't know what doubters go through unless you've been through it yourself, that's what makes this conversation so challenging. If they didn't seem real receptive now, just wait till people start coming to them for help. I don't know what level of training the leaders in our ar...
