Re: I'm finally here!

I've felt many of the things you've expressed. I don't wear the garment top in the summer. If men truly are that they might have joy I don't think obligating people to wear a second layer of clothing in +95 degree (35 celsius) weather in +70% humidity is the way to help them go about it. I'm glad th...

Re: An unintended "consequence" of home church?

I'm not sure I'll be one of the first ones through the door either. However, DW is ready to get back to her Primary calling and will likely go back as soon as allowed. This is why I hope leaders keep church closed until things are safe for the weak and the weakest of all saints, who are or can be c...

Re: An unintended "consequence" of home church?

I hear that an area authority over Utah has put the kibosh on local church meetings held via technology in "his" area. Ordinarily I'd shake a finger in his direction but I kinda want to see if he can somehow expand his little ban to cover general conference as well. Seriously though. We ha...

Re: An unintended "consequence" of home church?

In an effort to break up a long post and because these are random thoughts: I feel like the distance from the Mormon normal has done something else... the time off has made it even easier to see things as an outsider. The missionaries have tried their best to stay busy through all this (poor guys). ...

Re: An unintended "consequence" of home church?

Church has been closed six Sundays now. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Granted, a day now feels like a week and a week feels like a month, but reflecting on how it's been about 45 days since I've been inside a church building... it doesn't seem like it's been that long. Disclaimer: don't ...

Re: EMDR Therapy and the Holy Ghost

I'm glad it has been such a positive experience for you and that you figured out a way to self administer. I just wanted to share this as a source of spirituality. I don't completely understand why the Lord would choose to pour out what I consider to be the Holy Ghost during this self-administered s...

Re: A strange prayer

I've had experiences like those. I chalk them up to the assumptions that we often make when we're orthodox believers, namely that we all share the exact same beliefs, hopes, desires, and goals. Our ministers and ecclesiastic leaders often plow down the path of assumed sameness without even realizing...

Her "healed" date is scheduled for the 13th. We will know more then. Fingers are triple crossed.

Re: What constitutes a Fast on Good Friday?

I wish we could move away from temple recommends, worthiness interviews, and even the word "worthy" or any of its variants (qualified, drawing distinctions between worthiness and worth, etc.).
