Re: Cycles

I have noticed to that I just can't keep up the effort of a full TBM without mental (spiritual) exhaustion setting in. I have found a level that is more sustainable with some occasional bumps up if it is something I think are fulfilling. And by fulfilling I don't mean "easy" or something I enjoy. T...

Re: Struggling with Joseph Smith

My attempt to make sense of JS has been going on for many years, and I've finally come to the following conclusion: As others have said here, JS was a visionary man who truly believed his visions. I believe he had some sort of profound experience early in life and was able to parley that into a reli...

Re: Authenticity when speaking or teaching

For some reason, our bishopric recently started letting speakers pick their own topics or be assigned one. Almost all have chosen to pick their own. It's interesting what people have chosen. It's also nice that we don't have to hear 3 people speak about the same thing. It's kept things interesting. ...

Re: Is it ever too late

The title of your post is "is it ever too late" I'm assuming you mean is it ever too late to be forgiven and go back to church? The God we're taught about at church loves us no matter what we do. So in that way, it's never too late. Having said that though, it sounds to me from this post and past on...

Re: I need of advice (Atheism and being LDS)

It sounds to me like you're exactly the kind of person who fits in here. Most of us have very conflicting ideas swirling around in our heads. I'm not in the middle of a divorce, but many here have been through that. Being divorced and being a member don't have to be mutually exclusive. You can be bo...

Re: "Why Do They Leave?"

DA said: Possibly the single most common reason people stay in the Church is simply that they are married to another active Mormon so it wouldn't be very convenient for many of them to admit to themselves and/or others that they don't believe in the Church anymore much less just walk away because th...

Re: I need of advice (Atheism and being LDS)

Sorry to read of your troubles. Aside from the other issues, I hope you'll take time to care for yourself and do some things that make you smile. I also hope you can reconcile with your sister. Life's too short. You absolutely can be atheist and continue to go to church. It's your choice and no one ...
