So sorry to hear you're sick today. Hope you feel better soon. Remember, you can go back and watch DFU's talk tomorrow.

Re: General Conference - April 2015

I really enjoyed a lot of Elder Holland's talk. Particularly the story of the brothers. Elder Holland has always been one of my favorite speakers in just how he speaks; he's so animated and passionate. He talks of a literal Adam and Eve and the Fall tied with Christ and Easter. His emphasis is East...

Current talk so/so. I like parts, others, not so much. (Elder Nielson)

Re: General Conference - April 2015

Go about each day with a conviction to be joyful. Interact daily with the teachings of Christ. A networked life can remove us from family and loved ones - making us absent even when physically present. (This is a great reminder for us, I think.) The three online suggestions are orthodox, but they a...

I agree about Sr. Wixom, DJ. Perfect for our group here. Hope the general membership pay attention as well. Her encouragement are exactly what all of us here need.

Re: Where I am Now. How About You?

It was nice to hear from you Shawn. Glad you're feeling a little better now. It can be so frustrating sometimes how a FC/FT can ebb and flow. Sometimes I get to a place where I feel like I've turned the corner and I'm comfortable with the church, only to have something happen and make it extremely d...

Re: Death

So interesting to me that you posted this now, Nibbler. I've been all over the map with what I believe about an afterlife, especially since my father passed a few months ago (http://forum.staylds.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6112). As others have said, those experiences force you to contemplate death mor...

Re: Thestrals, Dementers, Boggarts and Crises of Faith

I decided to bump this up since Ray mentioned it in another thread. I remember reading this post shortly after I found this site and thinking. "I have come home." It's tremendously comforting to finally find and share with others who "see the thestrals."

Re: utterly ridiculous

The worst sinners, according to Jesus, are not the harlots and publicans, but the religious leaders with their insistence on proper dress and grooming, their careful observance of all the rules, their precious concern for status symbols, their strict legality, their pious patriotism... the haircut ...
