Re: Working through the guilt

Meh Mormon, First, a question. Within your family, not your parents' family, what's the activity level of your wife and kids? My wife is inactive and my son was never baptized. He was born when I wasn't active before. His mom and I divorced when he was 3-4 because she came out as a lesbian. I went ...

Working through the guilt

Since I joined this board a lot has happened. I first found out about this place from my wife who was having her faith crisis. I joined just to expand my mind and find out how to help my wife deal with her issues. Well I guess it's been about 1 or 2 years now and things have changed for me. I attend...

Re: John Dehlin Facing Excommunication

minor curiosity. the article mentions that those excommunicated cannot partake of the sacrament. Do we not permit everyone to partake of the sacrament including children and investigators? Why make an exclusion for the excommunicated? Interesting question. I don't have an answer, but I can't see ho...

Re: Marriage troubles

The more and more I'm hearing that divorce is better than suicide, the more I'm convinced that suicide is better than divorce. There are millions of couples who actually do make it through life without getting divorced. Some of them even happily. What do we have to do to be one of those? Seriously,...

Re: The Celestine Prophecy

Not a fan of Dan Brown, but I did like Angels and Demons.

Have you heard of "The Lincoln Myth" by Steve Berry? It speculates that Lincoln and the Mormon Pioneers were somehow conected by a secret. I read most of it shaking my head with some of the rediculousness of it.

Re: Progress...baby steps

No one comes to PH wanting to hear someone express bitter feelings about their pet issues Sunday after Sunday. They come to hear someone read the next paragraph in the Teachings of the Presidents manual. 8-) First off, Nibbler, I miss your old avatar of Nibbler. Second, this is so true ...

Re: Loving the Church more than Loving Christ

I think you hit the nail on the head with the church-u-monies. This is by far not the only thing, but it does contribute. Interestingly I had been reflecting on my own ward F&T meeting today as it struck me at the end of the meeting that only one testimony touched on Christ. Granted, that was a goo...

Re: TR Question Survey - Question 7: Affiliating with Aposta

I answered "NO" because I was told during my first Temple recommend interview that it was meant as groups/organizations/people who are actively trying to harm the church. And to "affiliate with them" meant that I supported them with either my time or money.

Re: Within ward boundaries of divorced spouse.

Why not try attending for a few weeks and see how that goes. It's not like they would throw you out because you don't live in the boundarys.
