No. If I'm invisible, she wouldn't know I am there, so why would she ask my name?

I honestly didn't see it as completely rude. I didn't offer my name or ask hers, either.

Re: Mormon Versus LDS

I think people are trying to find meaning in the meaningless. LDS is the official name and Mormon is the nickname. To me it's like arguing if wiener and hot dog have separate and deeper meanings.

Re: Invisible woman

Just to provide some balance, today my wife's new visiting teacher came up to introduce herself to my wife. She talked for 5 minutes, introduced herself to my daughters and asked their names. Didn't even make eye contact with me or say one word. I was the invisible man.

I'll be honest. I've don't think I have ever had a testimony.

Re: Invisible woman

I also envision the guy trying to get your husband to rat out on your full name out of an attempt at an icebreaker, or whatever. Obviously I wasn't there, but this doesn't sound like an evil sexist man who expects women to not make eye contact and walk 2 paces behind. And then he's teaching class an...

Re: I Want a Career! Not 10,000 Kids!

How about a career and 1-2 kids?

It's not an either/or. Many women do both.

It is definitely a personal choice only you can make, but I will say that 99% of the time, older people without kids feel pretty empty and regret their choice to skip out on that part of life.

Re: WoW Rehash: Beer is ok?? Things I never noticed

Section 89 is nicknamed "The Word of Wisdom". Since that's where our code of health began, it has been nicknamed the same. However, Section 89 is not our code of health. It's as good as any first presidency letter intended for a specific time and situation. It has been superseded. Do we not believe...

Re: WoW Rehash: Beer is ok?? Things I never noticed

From a purely analytical standpoint: I would say that "mild" beer is perfectly in line with the original message of the Word of Wisdom, but that many (if not most) of the current beer options are not. Generally speaking, beer is not nearly as mild as it used to be. Also, the original said explicitl...

Re: White Shirts

I helped with a blessing recently after work and my wife suggested I needed to stop home first and change into a white shirt. I just had a colored polo on. I said, no it's fine and she insisted I would be looking silly when the other guys showed up in suits. Not that I would have really worried abou...
