LDS and gay - SL Trib article

A very beautiful and moving article in the SL Trib yesterday. I am impressed that this guy has managed to still attend church, and find the good in its teachings. Sad to see someone who is trying to do everything right, but ultimately chose not to deny himself love, get ex'ed. We could use more like...

I have taught my children to pay fast offerings and donate to the church Humanitarian Fund since they were very young. I know of few children who pay into these funds, but i...

Re: My release came

My only note would be that the lack of emphasis on Christ you mentioned isn't an issue at "The Church" level; it's an issue in individual wards and branches, since the Branch Presidents and Bishops are the one who choose the topics for Sacrament Meeting. agreed... But I also feel that Christ doesn'...

Re: It's Christmas, any ideas?

Whether of not you believe in the story surrounding Jesus birth, the ideals that Jesus stood for (regardless of his existence at all) are what is most important. Reflect on what the gospel and ministry of Christ mean to you personally in your life. Help someone in need - the quickest way to feel goo...

Re: Temple Recommend SP Interview

ughh! I am just jealous that you have two more years of not having to worry about it. My TR expires in a couple months. I don't know what I am going to do, but I cannot even begin to express the problems that will arise among my family and in-laws if I don't have one. I have a sister who I talk to o...

In our HP Group lesson today, we talked quite a bit about our baptismal covenants - and the longest discussion was about "bearing one another's burdens". Someone made the point that we can't bear burdens about which we don't know - and that those whose burdens are the heaviest generally are those w...
