Re: The Constitution will hang by a thread

Good link, MM. I think this prophecy became known as the "white Horse Prophecy" if I'm googling stuff right. I wondered about the time frame...and it of course has none. The ensign article was good. One quote from it: Our commission to save the Constitution is, like salvation, a continuing task, and...

The Constitution will hang by a thread

Does anyone know the quote and source I've often heard that in the last days the Constitution of the US will hang by a thread and apostles will need to lead the saints in times of chaos?

I can't remember it or the context around what I've heard.

Anyone able to help?

Re: Faith or Not

I find value in having trust that things can be ok in the future, especially as I focus on the present moment, here and now. What once was a faith in a divine being to intervene in my life, has been replaced now with a hope and trust that it is worth it to keep loving each day, reaching out to other...

Re: What does a Temple Recommend mean to you?

For me, it means I can see my kids get married. That's all, really. The church has their standard, and I can choose to live it and see my kids get married or not. I don't think God cares. He comes to all of us wherever we seek him. He is all throughout the universe, and can be found in the mountains...

Re: Seminary Manual vs. non-LDS Scripture Commentary

As the instructor, I feel that you would have fairly broad leeway to include other sources as long as what you teach is not faith upsetting (upsetting to the students confidence in and loyalty to the LDS church). Because this is NT, I imagine that there is not too much information that directly cha...

Re: How to tell my daughter

Great responses. One thing that for sure comes across in your posts is that you are not angry...so I'm sure your daughter and family pick up on that. It is less alarming when you are at peace and doing great things and they see you as "a good person" and maybe they see you are on your journey...open...

Re: Youth and Fan Fiction

DD's brain is still developing and it is the parent's job to restrict and slowly relax restrictions to what might be considered adult content. This is why we as parents set up restrictions in media. That's parenting. One of the biggest values your daughter will get is less about the topic...

Re: Restriction on Christmas Sacrament Meeting

I think in some areas, over time some traditions keep getting bigger and bigger and adding more things that were once nice ideas but start to get out of balance, and so some areas leaders try to course correct a little and bring it back down to basics...which isn't a bad thing. It can remind people ...

Re: Crazy Mormonism

I also think you can find value in it if you see the mystical side of things. The BOM characters and stories are as real as the bible stories, to me. Job didn't exist either...that's fine...it's a story of principles. Some of the Book of Mormon can be seen that way too. It is better than doing nothi...

Re: I hope Sacrament Meetings get better.

Do you think the old saying is true: you get out of it what you put into it. If it is my kid singing...I'm the proud parents watching how funny they are trying to sing. If it's not my kids singing ... Well...I can try to get something out of it if I try to just appreciate the effort without caring a...
