Re: Never sure when to give kudos and when not to!

I try hard to recognize and celebrate all good when it happens, no matter how small. I can go on continuing to work for more change, but I can't let myself become hardened to the celebration of good.

I have had to work consciously on that. It doesn't come automatically. It isn't "natural".

Re: Would you want to be a leader in the celestial kingdom?

I will be whatever is needed wherever I end up, if there is an afterlife similar to what we teach.

I don't worry about it or even think about it any more than necessary. I try to focus on this life, since it is the only thing that is "real" right now.

Re: The Lord's Name

I try to use all proper names as proper nouns only. It never made sense to use them any other way.

I truly don't have any issues with using names for deity in context of talking about deity. I highly doubt they are so sensitive they can't handle it.

Re: Jesus and God as the Missing Benevolence In the World

I suggest reading "Jesus before Christianity" by Albert Nolan. It was a paradigm changer for me when I read it in college.

I also have little time right now, but I want to welcome you. We have no universal answers here, but we have lots of differing opinions and views.

I think there is an important power in that alone.

Re: Better to be Happy in Ignorance or Miserable in the Truth?

Frankly, I don't like to deal with "what if" scenarios that require a suspension of reality. I am who I am, and I do the best I can to be a good "I am" in the moment, and I know I can't change anything about my past. Therefore, it is enough to just me my present me and figure out how to be the happi...

Re: Suicide and Hell - LDS Answer 2018

Dande48 is correct about the doctrinal result of ending up in a lower kingdom, if membership is not restored, but, if we are being technical and precise, Dehlin was flat-out wrong to call it being "condemned to Hell". First, lots of people come back to the LDS Church after excommunication, and that ...

Re: It's Judgment Day, and You've Been Rebuked -- what will you say or do?

Frankly, I don't believe in formal judgment bar, so I have a hard time answering in any way other than what I said earlier.

I don't know what I would say, since I don't know what God would be like if there is an actual court-like judgment. I think I will be shocked enough to say, "Whatever you say."
