Re: My New Calling: Sunday School Lesson Recaps

I have been teaching the Gospel Doctrine class for a while, and I will try to post summaries of the lessons as long as I am doing so. Yesterday, we went over Jesus launching his ministry. We talked about personal cleansing, the announcement, and the initial organization. Cleansing: Jesus went to Joh...

Re: How do I talk to my wife about my faith crisis?

I only will add the following that is said here regularly:

You are the one that changed the dynamic of your marriage, so it is your responsibility, primarily, to "do no harm" (or as little as possible) in your marriage as a result of your change.

Re: After temple ordinances...am I done?

Ordinance-wise: Yes.

Church-wise: That is your call, but, doctrinally, no.

Eternal progression-wise: Never.

The last one is my favorite and, to me, the most important. Theologically, it is the tie that binds us all, regardless of religious affiliation in mortality.

Re: The New Sunday Stuff and Me

We have a very accepting ward, overall, and Bishop, specifically - and I teach Gospel Doctrine right now. Therefore, my comments would be biased heavily by those factors. Having said that, I prefer the new format to the old one. It gives flexible teachers more flexibility to focus on elements they f...

Re: New Sunday School - Not.

I teach Gospel Doctrine right now most of the time, so I am biased.

Maybe I should start posting lesson summaries again.

Re: Veiling Women's Faces at Burial

If veils don't "veil", they aren't veils. Just saying. For that reason, I could see veils and caps being eliminated in the future. I also could see the caps remaining, since there is a direct connection to Biblical robe descriptions - so I could see the veil remaining in order to avoid one group hav...

Re: Cooking with alcohol

I wrote a post linking something I wrote on my personal blog about the Thessalonians verse about the appearance of evil, since I have no time right now to write another detailed post. It explains why I have a huge problem with the traditional LDS interpretation. /end of this threadjack. back to the ...

"Abstain from all appearance of evil."

I once said I might write a post about the verse in Thessalonians that says to abstain from all appearance of evil. I was asked again in another thread about that possibility. I have been crazy busy lately and, frankly, haven't prioritized writing that post. Therefore, I am providing a link to a pos...
