Re: The Church and transsexualism

Roy, if church leaders believe that they are not authorized to change anything; Why then did they allow men of color to be given the priesthood? Was it really a revelation from God, or was it not rather the internal and external pressure on the Church because of the racism of which the Church was ac...

Re: 2012 Temple Recommend Question Survey

It's been many years since I've been in the temple. Because of my transsexual feelings, and my "hatred" of some of the decisions of church leaders, I feel unworthy to go to the temple. I always liked to be in the temple. What I don't like are the worthiness interviews to obtain the temple recommend....

Re: The Church and transsexualism

Roy, what is the point of asking homosexuals to live celibate lives, but the Church is doing everything (see Proposition 8 in California) to prevent gay marriage? What is the point of denying that sexuality is more than having children? And why the hell does the Church conceal its homosexual history...

Re: The Church and transsexualism

I agree that there have been changes in the Church, and that these small steps were in the right direction. But I would like to point out that every day on which the Church refuses to acknowledge scientific facts and make corresponding changes in church policy; people die or suffer from it. And one ...

Re: The Church and transsexualism

The church leaders had had so much time to increase their knowledge. They have had so much time to pray and get an answer from God. But neither on the subject of transsexuality nor on the subject of homosexuality, they have done the right thing. Their refusal costs lives! And it destroys families. A...

Re: Do you ever feel forgiven? - Forgive others

Revenge is human, forgiveness is divine, said my now deceased grandfather (he was not a member of the Church). There are things where forgiveness is easy, and other things where it is harder. But there are also things where it is impossible to forgive. Others, or themselves. Here's a true story that...

Re: Do you ever feel forgiven?

My mother always said that God forgives us our sins when we do two things: on the one hand, we repent of sin, and on the other hand we do not repeat sin. But some of what people or religions regard as sin is not really a sin. For example: In the Catholic Church there is a group of women who want to ...

Re: The Church and transsexualism

First of all, I would like to thank all those who have responded here. I now understand a little more why the Church has problems with the subject. I still have one question: If science accepts transsexuality and no longer tries to heal it, as they have done it with the issue of homosexuality for ma...

The Church and transsexualism

This is an issue that concerns me personally. I wonder why the Church has such great difficulties with the subject of transsexuality? No one chooses to be transsexual voluntarily. No one chooses to be beaten, or killed by family, friends and/or rejected. No one chooses voluntarily to be expelled and...

Gerlinde from Germany

Good morning, dear brothers and sisters. My name is Gerlinde, I am a member of the Church in Berlin, and transsexual. I would like to live in the Church as a man, but the Church does not allow it. I have known since my youth; that I, born as a "woman", am actually a man. And that I feel sexually att...
