Re: Is it possible to pay tithing without the bishopric/clerks seeing the amount?

By request of my wife, I have now started paying a full tithe again. She says I should have faith that we'll have enough money to meet any other needs, and to have faith that we'll receive blessings by paying. I personally think I just don't want to pay after past upsets with the previous bishop, bu...

Re: Is it possible to pay tithing without the bishopric/clerks seeing the amount?

So I tried to make the first move towards getting a recommend by approaching my new bishop after church and I told him that I'd be willing to try getting back into the habit of paying tithing again if he would consider allowing us to renew our recommends possibly by May so that I can attend my siste...

Re: Name of The Church - Version 152

I'm of the oppinion that changing the website url from LDS.org to ChurchofJesusChrist.org is just silly. It's not like we're dropping the 'of Latter Day Saints' from the official name of the church, so it should still be a okay thing to use the obviously better URL. We live in a time of many URL sho...

Re: Is it possible to pay tithing without the bishopric/clerks seeing the amount?

I've heard that if you pay it directly to Salt Lake, they don't know... here is the link for it... https://www.lds.org/help/support/finance/online-donations?lang=eng As far as I know that page on the website is the same as the one I linked to (well it's the FAQ page at least). I did find this thoug...

Is it possible to pay tithing without the bishopric/clerks seeing the amount?

Hey guys me again, I'm the guy who was worried about being able to bless my baby before here: http://forum.staylds.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9223 I've been doing better at making it to church since January, and turns out that I have a new bishop now. I was just hadn't attended Sacrament Meeting enough...

Re: Inactive for months due to tithing. Can I still give my newborn a baby blessing with an expired reccomend?

Well I'm happy to report that everything went well! It turned out to be a great experience! I have to admit I was a little nervous but it went by without anyone saying anything negative. I've done pretty well at attending since the start of the new schedule in January. Which ended up revealing that ...

Re: Inactive for months due to tithing. Can I still give my newborn a baby blessing with an expired reccomend?

Well in theory I have the okay to do the baby blessing in the next hour or so in sacrament meeting. That was my understanding at least based on my attendance last week. Here's hoping that there is no last minute change that prevents me.

Thanks everyone I'll report back!

Re: Inactive for months due to tithing. Can I still give my newborn a baby blessing with an expired reccomend?

Well I had a 12 hour shift Saturday night thanks to a 4 hour overtime hold. It's rare that I get overtime at all but needless to say I missed 9am church that Sunday after arriving home at 6am. Oof. Thanks for the replies guys! I read the first 3 before that Sunday, and I'm about to read the rest. I'...

Inactive for months due to tithing. Can I still give my newborn a baby blessing with an expired reccomend?

I haven't gone to church in months to avoid paying tithing. I used to always pay it happily before having kids. I've had 1 kid for 3 years now and my second was born just this week. I would like to give my new son a baby blessing in sacrament meeting just like I did for his older brother. But I've a...
