Re: Today's Observations

Yes, I wish that there were more moderates to help bridge the gap between opposing sides. I am more limited in my desire - I wish that both sides realized that there is a valid reason for moderates to exist... instead of playing leadership roulette to decide whether a witch hunt was in session or n...

Re: Getting back your mojo

Believe that your Mojo is AWE-INSPIRING and NEEDED by the world!!

[NOTE: The more you believe in your own Mojo, the more your choices will drive that decision.]

There is a reason why "faking it [or at least not allowing disbelief to wreak halt your attempts] until you make it" sometimes works.

Re: A Part of my Story

I am always amazed at some of the common themes in these stories. Never thought I would be here – check. Had faith "panic" (or belief panic) - check. Felt like I was lied to – check. Was taught if you did what was right, were nice, and you sacrificed your own needs for your spouses then you will ha...

Re: A Part of my Story

Eternal marriage was supposed to be better than any other marriage, and as it is ordained of God, He’d basically solve our problems for us. I’m not sure what lessons I listened to now, but somehow that’s what came across from all the lessons I did listen to. I can see where this was taught, but the...

Re: I Traded Up - Sunday Activity

We missed church again (up to week 5 - 3 weeks of sickness, 2 snow Sundays - 1 of them the service was cancelled for branch-wide). Faith transition aside - DH has a hefty cold/is recovering from a migraine. DD#1 is finally over the cold <crosses fingers> and DD#2 (the toddler) has been dealing with ...

Re: Selfishness vs. Self-Care/Self-Preservation

The key to me is whether someone still is focused on helping others, while recognizing that self-care is a constant need. It is the effort to find a proper balance that includes solid self-care. Balance is the key, and balance is an individual thing. As with so many things, moderation is important....

People Who Were Spared...

I found it interesting what I could learn about those people who were alive at the time of Jesus Christ's visit in the Americas. Old Testament Sacrifice Practice Believers - "And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood; yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away...

Re: Selfishness vs. Self-Care/Self-Preservation

I absolutely agree with all that, Beefster. I guess the question I have is how can you tell if it genuine self-preservation vs selfishness internally? If you ask others for advice on that front, they are going to have an inherent internal bias towards your action being "selfish" because it impacts t...

Selfishness vs. Self-Care/Self-Preservation

Hello, I have been giving a lot of thought to the difference being selfish and taking care of one's self/setting boundaries. 1 has a very negative connotation, and the other has a slightly positive/neutral connotation. Here are the difference(s) I see: 1. Perspective: Most people do not want to be s...
