I read this last week and loved it. It was so real. If anyone thinks that Elders are angelic, just read this. It was a great read.

Re: Vox LDS growth article

All churches report membership numbers as broadly as possible I agree, but I have to think that most are not as aggressive as LDS - keeping people on the roles until they are 100... That is why I think it is best to go with more unbiased surveys such as Pew and especially Jana Reiss' "The Next Morm...

Oh wow. That is hard. About the only thing I would suggest if it was my son was that he can't put his finger on it, but he just didn't feel like blessing the sacrament that week. Thanks for the thoughts. I did just go ahead and email that I would accept.

But if others have additional thoughts, I would welcome more suggestions.

Help on a talk

I still attend for my marriage and have started to (generally) be calmer at church. I had the "feeling" the last month - "It has been a while since I gave a talk, I bet I am coming up on the top of the list." Sure enough, I just was asked to talk. I asked what the topic was and was told, "Deepening ...

Re: Mental Exercise

I would say the bigger issue for me is the reaction of members, especially top leaders, to my doubts. I still do attend, but mainly for my wife's sake. Although I wouldn't say that I have doubts as I feel I have conclusions (which can be wrong and can change). This is pretty close to describing me....
