I don't think the Lord would have to question his actions...he is perfect.
Sounds sketchy. Did a prophet tell you that?

Re: Alan Watts

How do you think some find it "ok" or not scary to think we cease to exist? How do they find peace or call their fears of death? There are lots of factors. How satisfied are you with your life? Are you clinically depressed? What are your beliefs about the afterlife, is it a time when all wrongs wil...

Re: President Oaks and the Priesthood Restriction

I know this thread wasn’t in active topics, so I don’t expect more conversation. I just had to add my disbelief. Awhile ago I read (or heard, I can’t remember) Oaks recounting his joy and emotion upon getting the call that the ban was lifted. I loved the picture of it in my own mind. He said he and...

Re: Noah film, Creation scene

Maybe. Their telling of creation felt more theistic evolution and the church's traditional telling of the creation story feels more literal (no death before the fall, so evolution is out). I think the church's current interpretation of the creation story lands in the "we don't know" or "no comment" ...

Re: My Intro & Hellos

But I do feel alone. Utterly alone. I sense some of my friends may feel the same but none of us dare say it aloud. ... I know the feeling. I feel completely alone in my ward. At church we often talk about people that have left the church or people that feel like the prophets provided them with the ...

Re: New hymnal is in the works! Some major, wonderful changes.

I am biased, since I love music. Singing rousing hymns as a group is awesome - except when they are played at funeral dirge speed. :wtf: When I play a rousing hymn in any meeting, I play it at the upper end of the tempo range listed for it - and sometimes beyond the range. I visited a different war...

Re: Is belief a choice? Also, seriously? No really, seriously?

The church is certainly entitled to their opinion and the stances they take. I think the concern is when a particular line is crossed. People may be okay with a differing opinion but holding a differing opinion doesn't seem to be good enough for some. Some people want to impose their will on others....

Is belief a choice? Also, seriously? No really, seriously?

The following article surfaced on my social media feed today: LDS leader insists religious identity deserves same protections going to sexual, gender identities There's a lot I could say on the subject. Most of it would get me into lots and lots of trouble. I'll try and stay away from those thoughts...
