Re: What would you do if asked to stop?

Seeing as I hardly post anything anyway, I wouldn't consider it more than a weak scare tactic. I'm almost at the point of not caring about the discipline thing. My parents would be upset, my siblings (most of them) would be upset, but they wouldn't disown me or refuse to speak to me anymore (at leas...

LDS clergy also have powerful incentives to protect children from abusers within their congregations. All bishops are married and most have children of their own, often young ones, who attend their respective congregations and participate in their activities. Bishops are therefore personally invest...

When this policy came out, this was the exact analogy that my wife and I both used.

Re: Affirmation Pres. in Deseret News - LGBT Policy

That is a very well written article. Thanks for sharing it. I'm glad that he has had a wonderful, welcoming experience in coming back to church as a gay married man. I often wonder how other wards would receive such a person.

Re: Passive attack in priesthood

I all honesty DJ, I would have started to check Facebook or something else on my phone and tuned out. That being said, it would probably be a miracle in and of itself if I actually went. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Re: Capri Garments?

They indeed are a thing. My wife had a couple of pairs before she went inactive. She did like the comfort they gave her as there was nothing cutting into her thighs anymore. I was baffled when she bought them as well, but hey, she was happy with them.

Re: Elder Bednar -- why we have elderly leaders

I missed the talk, but here's my main thought. Isn't it odd to have one of the youngest apostles talk about the benefits of the apostles being old? Just the first thought that came to mind. I'll read the talk later.

Re: Working through the guilt

Thanks for the responses. I plan on going to church this Sunday, even though it's F&T meeting (not a fan). I'll probably only stick around for SM, but I'll see how it goes.

Thanks again for those great responses and advice.
