Interesting Conversation the other day...
I had an interesting conversation with a member of my ward the other day. I consider him & his wife to be good friends. They are very conservative & very orthodox. We have had some interesting discussions along the way. We never get upset or angry. They have several children who have gone on FT miss...
Re: Tithing
In my mind, there are (3) related to the topic of tithing: . Why do we pay it? . How do we pay it? . Is it acceptable to the Lord? The answers to all (3) questions is part of our own spiritual journey. I especially like Curt's answer to why. The How question is different. Is there an official Church...

Re: How do you know a FC is over
...Will it always be this way ? Will I ever have peace ? I agree with DJ: For me, I think my faith crisis became a faith transition which is ongoing - for several years without a real end in sight. I continue to learn, and I think that's the way it's supposed to be. Peace? Yes, it's possible but yo...

Re: I hope Sacrament Meetings get better.
Yesterday was a GREAT sacrament meeting. Three talks & a guitar solo. Everyone stayed within the time limits allowed. I wish I could go into more details. I don't want to "out" members of my ward. Needless to say, I hope this is a sign of better things to come. Maybe the message for me is: they aren...

Re: "Speak to the Bishop"
FWIW, I have found that there are people who can deal with human relationships on a deep meaningful level & others who prefer the superficial. This is especially true within our church. The very closest friends I have are not in our church. Within the church I have 2 or 3 at the most that I consider...

Wouldn't you like to meet some of these women?
I don't know where they fall on the "belief spectrum", but they are inspirational.

Those are my general thoughts too. I wouldn't talk that way in a F&T meeting however.

Re: Lord, Abide With Me - R.S. Lesson on Depression/Anxiety and Stuff PART 1
AmyJ, what a wonderful lesson. I wish it could be used in a PH class. My wife has been diagnosed with Depression, paranoia & possibly Bipolar for the past 10+ years. If you talked to her at church one on one, you would think "this lady has it (her life) altogether". The professionals treating her ar...

Re: I hope Sacrament Meetings get better.
I would like some personal application for the basics of the gospel. For example: - If you have difficulty praying, try doing ... - If you have difficulty forgiving someone who's hurt you, try doing ... - If that doesn't work try "x, y or z". One answer for applying gospel principles, doesn't fit all.
