Re: Was Nephi a real person?

I would like to reorganize the Star Wars Universe, counting everything after ESB as apostate and the work of a fallen prophet.
Amen.

Re: My Lent Experience This Year

Half way through and it's harder than I imagined. And it's not just our church-stuff. It's life. It's other churches. It's those d*&N other people. All of them, any of them. Living a Beatitude life is hard. Today's quote Before Truth sets you free. It tends to make you miserable. - Richard Rohr

Re: Exposure / Apologists

I am only going to touch the marriage part of this. I don't know how old you are - but even marriages that are same faith have tough struggles. Things they never imagined. In the beginning it's often easier to chug along together when you feel cut from the same cloth, but everyone grew up in a diffe...

May you find peace with this. Or maybe just not have the worry.

Good luck. Here's to hoping you get the May 4th - go ahead.

And I think you have a cool anniversary plan.

Re: Pros and Cons of Supplementing

I think that was the overall spirit of the "home church" initiative, to get people to take the reigns of their own spiritual journies. I think so, too. or The new change gives us room to do that. Right now we are still pouring old wine into new bottles. Whether by intent or by coincidence most memb...

Re: Rome Temple

I don't see that happening. I just can't imagine a person coming home from a Italian vacation, and telling their friends “We went to Rome and saw the Vatican, the Colosseum, and Trevi Fountain. Oh, and we also went to see the Mormon Temple! Sheldon and I rarely see eye to eye, but I am with him on ...

Re: Rome Temple

Thanks Sam. It was funny after I posted it, I thought I could be wrong. I knew there was a strong Catholic Diosese in Salt Lake since 1900. Which therefore totally fails my theory. I really appreciate you looking into the details. I will still wish that we had built our Italy temple somewhere else. ...

Re: Rome Temple

5 or 6 years ago, my husband and I went to France. We spent a day touring Versailles. Very French. Naturally we posted pictures. The Versailles temple was barely a glint in the worlds eye. The ground hadn't been broken. Nothing. Sure as shootin' - all our devout friends and family could say was, "Yo...

My Lent Experience This Year

Lent has fully embraced me this year. The day of Ash Wednesday was a surprise practice that arrived unexpectedly, with it came yearnings. A local nun posted a piece about how she wasn't giving anything up, instead she was embracing more. More time in prayer, more time with God. I liked that. My focu...
