Re: Mental Exercise

I sometimes wonder about more liberal religions that don't require codes of belief or orthodoxy of ideas or even practices. My best friend's mom left the church when my friend was young, and they basically joined the Unitarian congregation. Looking at the stats, though, there are fewer UU than CoC ...

Re: Worldwide Devotional

To me talks like this are all fear based. There is always a bad guy. In one generation it's ERA, and women leaving the hearth and home. In another it's people of a certain creed or race. Right now it's the boogey man of history. When we fear, we handle things badly. Whether it's as a parent or busin...

Re: What should be ADDED to the WoW?

If we were to add to it - Portion Sizes. In America the bigger the better. Not good. Period. Arteries, colon, brain cells, not to mention intestines can't handle it.

Re: Worldwide Devotional

In the long run, these talks may do more harm than good. This particular group of people already have questions. Even orthodox YSA's are having questions. If they are attentive enough there are enough nuanced voices to give rise to wondering. Moreover, as DJ said, this group is already feeling bulld...

Re: Worldwide Devotional

I heard it was awful. I assumed from the title it would be. I am glad Jana wrote a piece. This won't make it easier on families and friends who experience this "dark night of the soul".

The more we have these, the more I cry.

Re: Rome Temple

will Christ me likely to visit Rome than Dallas because of the fancy building?
I have always assumed he'd go to Provo first, cause it's the ugliest of them all. (IMO).

Re: Rome Temple

I too like/love the Christ surrounded by the Apostles. So cool. Beyond that, I wish we had left the Versailles Temple and Rome Temple off the grid. I may change my mind, but I don't think so. I think we should put our little temples on ground that isn't historic to another country or religion. Don't...

Rome Temple

I have had mixed feelings about this temple. I am still not sure what I think in totality, but I am impressed with the effort to move outside of our traditional look and create something grander. The pictures are worth a gander. Enjoy. https://www.sltrib.com/religion/2019/01/14/latter-day-saints-open/
