Re: April 2020 General Conference

Jean B. Bingham sunk the this is the year the women get the PH ship. :( Her talk is a real skipper. I mainly saw the youth speakers and Sister Bingham's talk. I felt that the youth did well considering. The young man seamed really sweaty but that may have just been the bright lights and had me wond...

Re: The Church & the Coronavirus

I am so sorry Mom3.

It really makes it more real and urgent when someone you love is sick. Hugs and prayers for you and your family.

Re: The thing that started it all

Thanks for pointing me in this direction. After reading the thread, I have to say this is the first time in a long time that I see some glimmer of hope in "Staying LDS". No problem. I felt similarly after I read those thoughts from mercyngrace 10 years ago. I visualize the traditional LDS beliefs a...

Re: Change...

I think I had a very strong idea of being able control my destiny. I made lists of positive traits that I wanted to develop. I made lists of traits that I wanted or d...

Re: Joel 2:28

I love this scripture. It reminds us that God is still moving among His children to conduct His work and His glory. There is an amazing BYU devotional talk that uses this scripture as the central theme. The actual title is, "Women and Education: 'A Future Only God Could See for You'". There is a vid...

Re: New to the forum

I am very sorry. DW and I knew going in that we would need to keep her parents (read mother) at arms length. There was a history of interference and manipulation that we could see with some of the other siblings' marriages. We decided early on that we were in the relationship together exclusively - ...

Re: Its been a while but have a question

I agree with what has been said. We make promises to remember Jesus and to try to be like him. He makes promises to send his spirit (aka the comforter and the spirit of peace) to be with us.

Re: Abrahamic Religionist

I would be interested to learn anything you can share about the head covering. I once did some research trying to discover why women veil their faces during the temple endowment and I basically landed on that it is a tradition that we borrowed from older traditions.
