Re: One of My Favorite Chieko Ozaki Quotes

I hear her quoted a lot, also by @Mom3. Why is she so popular among us? Is she out on the fringe a bit like Uchdorft? Are her messages untraditional?

Re: New Zealands's new prime minister is ex-Mormon

Traditional Mormonism would say they are in an up cycle of unrighteousness that will lead to arrogance, pride, and disobedience, only to be pulverized into humility due to God's wrath. Wrap that up with an Ex-Mormon at the head it's a recipe for the prosperity cycle in microcosm!

Re: What is worth believing in

I want to add that I think conclusions drawn from sound critical thinking are good to believe -- from applying processes that lead to sound conclusions. Patterns learned from experience are also valuable. I do think spiritual impressions have a place, but they can't always be trusted. In fact, they ...

Re: What is worth believing in

You hit on a ton of different issues. Let me comment on a few. You broach the topic of external and internal locus of control. Are we in control, or is someone else in control? Answer -- both. We can definitely screw up our lives if we want to. At the same time, we are subject to the choices of othe...

Re: Was the priesthood ban revelation?

I think it's great you made yourself the VT of the person who needed it, although I would have just started visiting the person unofficially. I would have simply reached out and said I wanted to help, and would love to come by. That I am not a VT officially, and this isn't a duty-bound assignment. ...

Apparently church security knows how to find you. https://medium.com/@marysnap/im-mary-snap-and-i-tracked-mike-norton-newnamenoah-at-the-lds-church-b9937127a071 Ouch! My hope is that anyone stalking me sees the good I do in trying to help people find a way within Mormonism after they have lost the ...

Re: Was the priesthood ban revelation?

My husband raised his eyebrows when in a joint interview with the Branch President I gave him my list of "perfect callings for me" as points to consider for future callings.... NOTE: All recommendations I put forth I make very clear are recommendations coming from me personally. I will defer to rev...

Re: Struggling

For me this site has been invaluable, but it isn't working for me long term. But I am very grateful for this site and the folks here. It helped me from exploding out of the church and damaging relationships. There is some great wisdom here. And having watched this site and others, I have seen a tre...

Re: What are the laws, rites and ordinances that pertain to eternal marriage?

So, it's akin to what the Ministry of Truth was doing in 1984 -- rewriting history to align with current interests! But not for an evil empire. I get it! Retroactive continuity is a nice euphimism for it!!! Here is an example from Austin Powers. IN one of the later versions, I guess they couldn't ge...
