Re: Covenant Keeping

When we realize that we are children of the covenant, we know who we are and what God expects of us.His law is written in our hearts. President Russell M. Nelson October 2011 "Covenants" https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/10/covenants?lang=eng What do these 2 sentences mean to you personal...

Re: Covenant Keeping

One interpretation of covenants -- you get a kind of watered down version of them and then commit. Later, you get beat over the head because you aren't doing things in the name of covenants you made.

Re: It's official, so long Scouts

I would like to see an adaptation of the Scouting program where they keep the badges, ditch the uniforms, ditch the military culture, and make it easier to understand for people who weren't raised in it. I had to go through a whole day of Woodbadge training to figure out the bureaucracy and even the...

Re: How do you measure success in "ministering"

Re: Philosophy of Non-Responders 101

I see the "assignment" mentality is of value when there are emergencies, and the leadership needs to contact someone to help the person. Even if that person doesn't have the skills to fix the problem (like the financially struggling family who has a simple plumbing problem they can't fix themselves)...

Philosophy of Non-Responders 101

I have a question -- when people WANT to be visited, or have legitimate needs, then it's not that hard to meet those needs. It's the people who don't care and aren't responsive that burn me out personally. As I have aged and matured, I have learned to work with the people who want to be helped, who ...

Speak up on non-doctrinal issues that are backed up with lds theology or little known GA talks....judgmentalism is a good one.
