Most of our life is childhood

In another post I mention infantile amnesia - our general ability to forget our earliest childhood. However, what about the rest? It's no secret time goes faster as you age. But as children we remember huge long summers, and school seems to last forever. Also what happens in our childhood shapes us....

Re: How souls choose their parents

We know for a fact that we DO undergo a memory wipe. This is so called infantile amnesia - basically under the age of three we remember little or nothing (I'm convinced I do but that is another matter). What is the point of learning to speak or to walk if we can barely remember doing so? It is a goo...

Re: First Time Temple Freakout - You Weren't Prepared

A ritual that is practically plagiarized from the freemason initiation- something that not even the most stalwart apologists can link to Solomon's Temple. They already have! I'm sorry but have they plagiarized it or have they linked it to King Solomon's Temple or both? Both. Don't ask for sources.....

Re: First Time Temple Freakout - You Weren't Prepared

I actually like everything in the temple apart from the endowment. I agree. Even the initiatory is preferable, but maybe I'm just saying that because the naked version predates me. I gotta say, I've always loved doing baptisms. The spirit I feel in the baptistry really stands at odds with the endow...

Re: Too Many Reasons to Hide a Porn Problem

why did Satan have to tell them they were naked? They could see he wore clothes and even asked about them. They couldn't figure out they were naked? I do have a theory that relates to the topic, but I'm not ready to share it publicly (sorry for the tease). I will say that I'm not sure all guilt (or...

Re: First Time Temple Freakout - You Weren't Prepared

Nothing could prepare me for the ideas about women in the temple, meaning that the temple presents the role of women as very silent and subordinate to their husbands in ways I was wholly unprepared for. I was not aware until then that women are not viewed as full people in any meaningful sense with...

Re: Joke of the Day

A few years before the outbreak of WWI, David Morris, a Welsh protestant minister, was in a terrible shipwreck. He found himself washed up, alone, on the shores of a small and uninhabited island. It was ten years before he was rescued. A ship was passing and had seen his smoke-signal. The captain hi...

Re: Symbolism in the temple vs. baptism

The explanation I've heard is that the early saints feared being poisoned.
