Re: Teachers Council Once a Quarter? Once a Quarter!

I love callings where I can contribute but if a season comes where it's a low key-er I take it. I wonder if we'll see more of these types of callings with the two hour change. It seems like in every ward, there's a HUGE push for every member to have a calling. I swear, it's almost doctrinal. I thin...

The RLDS/CoC name change was I believe more understandable.
Once again, The Community of Christ is way ahead of us!
Different reasons.

The RLDS didn't want to be confused with us!

Two Hour Church!

I'm easy about that one. My view is quality not quantity is paramount.

I know some people are delighted by the change.

Re: Masonry and Metaphor

Throwing this out there, but at times Joseph Smith could be like modern musicians. They often take samples from various other artists and turn them into a new song. Sometimes these remixes end up better than the original. In the best case scenarios (let's forget about the worst.) Maybe we can think ...

Re: Credit Where Credit Is Due

The "no Mormon" thing bemuses me a bit but I can live with it. Christ-centered worship 100% though. But yes, I love the fact we are getting away from the ultra-correlated church of the 80s and 90s. We've also streamlined local leadership which makes life a lot easier. As the current presidency is ne...

Re: I dont have a temple recommend.

In order to goto the temple my church said I need to attend church every Sunday for a year. It's too hard, pretty much impossible. I'm not a crowd person. Going where there are tons of people gathered, is like information overload to my senses. I get extreme anxiety and need to leave for air. Atten...

Re: The Value of Accumulating Luxuries

I've always thought it would be interesting to accumulate wealth in the first part of your life & spend the last half giving it away to worthy causes or trying to solve problems in the world. Similar to the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. Better maybe to have one third struggling, one third thrivi...

Re: Masonry and Metaphor

There are some decent British documentaries on this subject available online. I agree that the American ones tend to be full of trash. I have a good friend who is a Mason and he tells me a lot about what goes on in the lodges, and he's shown me his apron and regalia etc. He is not in good standing (...

Re: New Sunday Worship

I get hundreds of emails every day. And the information only very occasionally goes on there. Sometimes tried and tested is best.

As for social media, most of that is just a form of m*sturbation and narcisssism. Very hard to keep track of anything on it.

Re: New Sunday Worship

I had to look up what burlap was. Is it that stuff that gets put on wall panels? If so our local temple has some but none of the chapels round here.
