Re: An ominous developement for Middle Way Mormons

cwald... I just wanted you (and any of your leaders/family reading this) to know I love you and I love this forum. I may not participate here much these days, but I still read it often and enjoy all of your wisdom. Were it not for this forum, the incredible work and compassion of John Dehlin (love t...

Re: General Conference Open Thread

Overall... not a bad conference. Lots of talks about serving others. Yeah! I liked that. Ballard's talk was excellent and I look forward to re-reading it. Simplifying the gospel to the basic principles of love of God and neighbor. Exactly the kind of talk I was hoping to hear. I also loved Lynn G Ro...

Re: General Conference Open Thread

His example is from the movie "127 Hours" - well, actually, probably the book, since the movie is R-rated. (Everyone here might want to take that reference as being about the movie and implicit permission to watch R-rated movies.  ) I just watched that movie last night! It was good. ...

Re: General Conference Open Thread

I did not enjoy most of today's conference. Many of the messages made me sad. I will not elaborate. I will say however that I really appreciated Ballard's talk. It was a true Christ-like talk, and I was glad to see conference end on a good note!

Re: Jesus: Symbol or Savior?

Enoch, I just now read this thread and I enjoyed your thoughts. I LOVE the symbolism of Jesus, and I LOVE the example of Jesus. I am proud that our church is named after him, I just wish that we as a church would remember what he stood for. I fear we are losing site of that. The Gospel of Christ was...

Re: The boy drank coffee yesterday

cwald... you handled this well. You are a good dad! I have always loved the smell of coffee, but hate the taste. I wouldn't mind a french vanilla cappuccino or something along those lines. I really love tea, and find it to be the most healthy route for an energy boost. I mostly just drink wat...

Re: NOM in FL

Falcosp, I am so happy to have you over here as well as at NOM. I feel we are kindred spirits. I too am struggling with finding a way to stay. Right now I feel that I have no choice. I have too much to lose. I stay because I love my family and I don't want to hurt them, but I also want to find a way...

Re: A United Church of Canada Experience

Sounds very nice! I have been interested in experiencing church services of other faiths, but my husband will not support this. I thought maybe it could be a fun tradition to find a different churches to attend while we were on vacation. We travel a lot and usually don't attend any services while aw...
