Re: An Unemotional Analysis of the Recent "Whistleblower" on LDS Church Finances

Reflecting on Jesus Christ, his life seemed to be an open book. When it comes to our day of judgement, our life will be an open book too. Shouldn't Christ's church be as open to the membership with their financial transactions? My personal belief is: when my money leaves my bank account, it's not m...

Re: I'm going to jail!

I think it was David O McKay who said: The purpose of the gospel is to make bad men good and good men better. This certainly is a big part of your calling and the message of the video. I watched it several times today & shared it with my friends & family. Thanks again. I'm so glad you watched it! A...

Re: I'm going to jail!

Thanks for sharing. I don't talk much on here about what I do. I work with incarcerated youth. This is my third Christmas at this facility, but the kids are all different because we have them for less than a year (minor crimes). But only the names and faces are different. It's really tough for them...

Re: I'm going to jail!

I just wanted to post this AMAZING video that we showed to our Sunday School class at the jail last Sunday: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/inspiration/latter-day-saints-channel/watch/collection/christmas/infant-holy-infant-lowly-music-video-mormon-tabernacle-choir?lang=eng#__prclt=RF9ZbZ4J . Re: Interesting Conversation the other day...

I had an interesting conversation with a member of my ward the other day. I consider him & his wife to be good friends. They are very conservative & very orthodox. We have had some interesting discussions along the way. We never get upset or angry. They have several children who have gone on FT mis...

Wonderful! Special Note, The Christ child cries.
It was just a whimper. I can assure you than Jesus would never have had colic for three months and cry 18 hours a day! :D

Re: Openly Cafeteria Mormon Candidate

I have always loved and admired Jon Huntsman, Jr. Unlike the vast majority of people who run for office, he is a true statesman and not a dirty politician. He is a man of great integrity and I only wish his run for President had been successful. I know that his cafeteria approach to Mormonism is pro...

Re: The Great Progeny Contest

I work in banking and keep a photo of my family (parents/siblings) on my desk. The topic of kids will come up and I'm often asked if I have any. It's amazing how many people reply with "you have plenty of time" when I say I don't currently. Occasionally I even state "I don't know if I ever will" an...

Re: The Great Progeny Contest

Is there another parallel with the Family History Program of the church? - how many names can I send to the temple? - how many names can I index? - what historical people am I related to? - who in church history am I related to? I must say, I do find this program to be very interesting. Because, at...

The Great Progeny Contest

Maybe it's just me, and maybe it's not even an LDS thing, though I suspect it is. My husband and I have two grown children (ages 39 and 37). Both are divorced and living with significant others. Neither of them has any children. I actually didn't want a large family myself, although I would have bee...
