Re: And the fruits of coffee are . . .

Doesn't it feel like we are developing our own "Kosher" set of ritual or dietary rules that must be followed to be fully accepted by God? It seems odd to me that God gives us revelation and man wants to complicate the hell out of it. What seems even odder to me is that man seems determined to turn ...

Re: Trip to Utah

Darn! Darn! Darn! It's Monday at 6:40 PM and I missed my second chance! People, if you're going to be in Salt Lake, please post something to that effect as early as possible so this doesn't happen to me again.

Re: And the fruits of coffee are . . .

Well, since I absolutely hate coffee, it doesn't matter to me whether it's made "legal" or not. I just wish I could drink my twice yearly glass of wine without being guilt-laden.

Re: Sealing waiting period policy discontinued

Where possible, leaders should encourage couples to be both married and seal in the temple. Where a licensed marriage is not permitted in the temple, or when a temple marriage would cause parents or immediate family members to feel excluded, a civil ceremony followed by a temple sealing is authoriz...

Re: Trip to Utah

I'd have loved to get together in SLC if I hadn't just barely read this (and it's 6:00 PM on Thursday). I'd genuinely enjoy meeting anyone on StayLDS if any of you are ever in the area.

Re: Face Palm Sunday . . .

Easter at the jail was great (as is every Sunday at the jail). The opening prayer in our class was offered by an inmate who included the Pledge of Allegiance as part of it. :D

Re: Conference Reactions

President Nelson's Sunday morning talk left me so depressed. After the reversal of the November, 2015 policy, I had felt so encouraged and uplifted by what I hoped to be a trend towards acceptance of people who don't fit the cookie cutter image TBM image. His talk was probably the closest thing I've...

Of all the moves yet by RMN this one was the riskiest. I wish all of us well.
Although he genuinely frustrates me at times, I've got to applaud him (as well as the rest of them) for this. I can't help but wonder, though, who actually spearheaded the effort for change.

I am stunned it happened so quickly.

I am grateful it happened so quickly.

Today, I am happy.

Re: Estimating the Chances - Women in the Priesthood

Best Chance (5%): DHO - He is a very legalistic thinker who may have talked himself into being able to say, "this is the way it's always been." Really? I'd have put him at 0% chance. No Chance (0%): MRB - Olde Ship Zion needs no repairs. I'd actually flip MRB and DHO. I've always kind of liked Ball...
