Blast From the Past!
Just checking in from what seems like forever and a day ago! I first would like to say that I, LaLaLove, give this support forum major props for helping me through my faith crisis many moons ago! :) I highly recommend this group. Although I have NOT stayed LDS I am so so happy to say that I h...

Re: How Should I Handle Bishopric Involvement in my Class?
My MIL teaches the GD class every Sunday in her ward. She sticks to the manual 100%. Her class also happens to be horribly boring. It isn't even b/c she wants to follow the guide so closely but b/c she isn't very well read. According to my DH anyway. Would it really be terribly rude to ask for thoug...

Re: How do I reconcile paying tithing?
I agree with you. My main reason for questioning the church almost two years ago was over a tithing settlement meeting. I asked the bishop honestly why I couldn't put my tithing money directly into HA or Fast Offerings without giving more money, iow putting just my 10% of tithing to where I want it ...

Re: What to teach your kids
I'm not sure that we will be bringing our kids to church at all. Our daughter is two and she has only been a handful of times, she has always sat with us anyway. We have our second baby on the way .. due in March. I think I want them to be baptised. I asked DH about it and I'm not sure that he even ...

Re: Changes at church...and should I take my first drink?
My TBM husband (Maybe ? Not so sure anymore) hasn't done anything stupid and he drinks sometimes. He had his first beer when we were at Disney World a little less than two years ago, he was 23. I almost passed out from all of the hype surrounding his first beer, and I've been drinking here and there...

Re: The M word
Men=Visual and Women=Relationship .. or however people categorize the sexes still doesn't mean that an individual does not have a choice in what they act on or look at. I love compliments from men. I love men. I'd enjoy flirtatious relationships with men. That doesn't mean that it is right or that i...

Re: The M word
I wanted to add, myself believing in the "natural" way of life, that there is I believe absolutely nothing wrong with the M word .. keep in mind all things in moderation, of course. However, porn would be a totally different can of worms. They scenes aren't real, the relationships aren't r...

Cults
Out in the world far away from Utah .. and far away from a big population of LDS members lives most of my family in Boston, MA. In all honesty when some of my family and best friends were informed that I would be marrying a devoted Mormon they were worried for me. A few people called in cultish. A f...

Re: Some stay.lds type quotes
I have a cute magnet on my fridge .. Black and white with a lonely dog running down a dirt path .. "All that is gold does not glitter, not all who wander are lost." J.R.R. Tolkien It sums up life well, I think.
